William Evans is an artist from the American South, currently based in Ohio. His research centers on Black Queer subjectivity, exploring the complexities of race, gender, and identity. His work combines sculpture, digital design, and craft techniques, engaging with humor and critique.
Evans earned a BFA in Sculpture and an AB in Women’s Studies from the University of Georgia. He is currently an MFA Art candidate at The Ohio State University (expected Aug. 2025), where he serves as a Global Arts + Humanities Graduate Fellow and is a recipient of the Alumni Grants for Graduate Research and Scholarship (2024–2025).
His work has been exhibited at Denison University Museum (Granville, OH) and Lyndon House Arts Center (Athens, GA). Evans’ MFA thesis exhibition, A Stitch in Black America, was exhibited at Urban Arts Space.
