The Fence Watches Back transforms a wooden fence into both a barrier and a site of surveillance. Affixed to the surface are images of myself, captured by security cameras—footage never meant for me to see. Embedded within the fence, live-streaming cameras broadcast in real time outside the gallery, creating a feedback loop between watcher and watched. By reclaiming these images while simultaneously inviting public surveillance, the work interrogates control, visibility, and the uneasy balance between security and autonomy.
